Quimper, the four market town

Quimper has always been packed with markets : potatoes at place Saint-Mathieu, milk at place Médard, flowers at rue Astor, vegetables at place Maubert, milk and butter at place au Beurre.

Today, Quimper has four markets : Les halles Saint-François (covered market), le Grand Marché (The Big Market), Braden Market and the Kerfeunteun organic market.

Whether it’s a food market or a fixed market, you will love these places for the colourful ambience that the stallholders give them .

Opened in 1847 on the site of the old Saint-François convent, its the most well-known market, located in the heart of the town.
The only covered market, it wins over its clients by offering them varied and high quality produce.

Open air market

Market around Les Halles (covered market)

Mobile traders selling primarily non-food products group around Les Halles on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

from 1st October to 31 March from 07.00-18.00.

The Big Market

Open air market where not less than a hundred traders gather every Wednesday and Saturday in a green setting along the Steir and offer food and manufactured items.

It’s a place where Quimper people can do their shopping in peace since traffic is prohibited.

Kerfeunteun organic market

Every Friday afternoon, Kerfeunteun quarter lives and breathes the organic market. Producers and mobile traders meet on the Community Centre’s car park to sell their products. A very successful rendez-vous.
