This classical and contemporary music festival offers an especially rich and eclectic programming.

Created in 1979, the Quimper Musical Weeks take place every year during the first three weeks of August. Medieval, baroque, classic or contemporary, the most beautiful, the most famous or even the most unknown succeed one  other in a celebration of the great composers. This festival offers an especially rich and electic programming where piano, harpsichord, organ, strings and wind instruments are movingly interwoven.

The concerts take place in places with excellent acoustics where the charm and beauty add to the feeling : Notre Dame de Kerdévot chapel and St Guinal church (Ergué-Gabéric), the Roman church of Notre Dame de Locmaria, St Corentin cathedral and Lanniron orangery (Quimper). Concerts, conferences and workshops based on string-instrument making, presented by renowned professionals, are held at the Cornouaille Theatre.

Quimper Musical Weeks receives the support of Quimper Council, Ergué-Gaberic Council, the Finistère Regional Council, Brittany Region and the Rennes Academy.
